Hmm. Yes, for example on the subject of Mahler symphonies, SkyArts 2 has limited the broadcasts to just 10 of them!

No 9 on now as I type, Haitink/Concertgebouw, in stunning HD.

Just watched Daniel Harding conducting No.1- very impressive. He really brought some new perspectives to a work that I know very well.

I was interested that he used the entire double bass section at the beginning of the slow movement, rather than a solo.

& if you missed those, there will be another 10 along soon (or is it the same 10, on an endless loop?)

Anyway, shouldn't the 3 posts above be on the 'BSB' puffery thread? What are you doing here?

            Me too.

It seems we can't have any sort of discussion about Sky, even when it concerns the musical merits of performances we have seen, without some idiotic, juvenile jibe from Flosshilde.

Mr Pee, just recently I have used the 'ignore' facility on a couple of people who have been irritating me. At first, it was just a flounce, but I found that it works really well!

You get the thread, but without the text of moron's post showing!

              Try it!!!

                Good shout Beef!

I'd be quite happy to see Sky Arts on Freeview, along with Gilette soccer saturday with Mr Stelling, instead of the '57 Channels with nothing on' we get at the moment. Freeview, I suppose you get what you pay for!

When I looked for repeats they all seemed to feature mayor Boris. It's wonderful to have access to these Hay functions though - without getting soaked in the English/Welsh countryside.
I watched Boris last night. It was a most entertaining hour's television. I thought his book sounded fascinating; and he certainly does liven up the political landscape!

Just to clarify one point : I started this thread (and gave it the title) by hiving off some BSKyB 'comments' from another thread (see OP) and to allow some disagreements here if people wanted to indulge (argument = squabble). It is not the thread for discussing or drawing attention to Sky programmes. That's perfectly allowable and such threads should not be sabotaged by anti-Murdoch comments.

On the other hand - Sky viewers - be sensible () : please limit your comments to programmes really worth mentioning. This is the Radio 3 Forum not for people who spend their lives watching Sky Arts and using this forum as a promotional tool .............
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
