Still, here's another award for Sky Arts:-

"Sky Arts’ partnership with literature festivals in Cheltenham, Hay, Bath, Cumbria and Dublin, which collectively received the Classic FM Arts & Business sponsorship "
Arts & Business Awards “offer a blueprint to a new generation of engagement” between arts organisations and supporters from the business sector.
So which, in the above award, is the 'business sector' & which are the arts organisations? My guess would be that the latter are the literature festivals, which leaves Sky Arts as the business organisation. So, not really an award for its much-vaunted (by Pee anyway) arts programmes - indeed, as most (all?) are commercially-made DVDs there's not much to give an award to.

Originally posted by amateur51 View PostBBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service both have several programmes about books, their authors and their readers. I would suggest that 'book programmes' are essentially radio programmes rather than TV programmes.
Her radio and TV shows are excellent, but I would suggest that there is something to be gained from seeing the authors being interviewed. MF does have a delightful way of interviewing too - gently probing, but she gets good responses. (Certainly not the Laurie Taylor/John Freeman approach.)

Yes, Sky is a business. <D'Oh>
So is the BBC.
So is the London Symphony Orchestra.
So is the Royal Opera House.
So is Tate Modern.
So is ENO.
Do you understand??
Probably not. But it's worth a try.
And I repeat, even your beloved Guardian newspaper has seen fit to offer credit to Sky Arts.
Your dunderheaded obstinacy over this just makes you look extremely stupid.Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.
