...out of curiosity why do you ask?
According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Are you being deliberately obtuse or evasive or funny? I have no idea. I do know that saying Yes or No to the simple question as to whether or not you use Amazon is not going to give me or the best hacker on the planet the ability to phish your details.

This is getting boring. I ask the question because these threads are really tedious in the extreme. Life is unfair. Life is a bitch. We all know that there are injustices and unfairness in the world. Why keep going on about it? We either put up or shut up.

If you or anyone concerned about companies not paying their taxes use Amazon then you are contributing to this unfairness as Amazon is registered outside the UK (Luxembourg, I believe). So to all those ringing their hands in anguish, do something positive. Stop using Amazon. Stop using any company that you consider does not pay it's fair share of taxes. Don't use Vodafone or take any drugs that GSK make.

i suppose if the threads bore you so much you could always not read them? And save yourself the boring task of saying how boring they are? Or you could read them and either put up with them or shut up about them?

But what's Amazon & non-payment of taxes got to do with any of the links Calum posted?

Do you shop at Tesco, buy Nike products, buy anything from Amazon, or HMV online, or a host of other businesses?

99 out of 100 cats - sorry, FTSE 100 companies - use offshore tax havens etc. The average consumer has limited powers. When I win millions on the national lottery, I will set up a store in the heart of London that sells every one of their products for 50 pence. It will be called "We Will Break The Tax Dodgers" and it will expand into all of the major centres of the UK until there is a change.

Point Two...UK companies and tax havens etc. Amazon pays no taxes. So it is hypocritical of anyone (which may or may not apply to Calum as he hasn't said) to say how bad it is that companies .... blah blah bleat bleat etc....use tax havens etc and then support that company by buying their stuff.

Where I shop is irrelevant because I am not the one going on and on about companies using tax havens etc.

Really? Evidence please. The average consumer has a choice. If they believe that strongly about it then they should practice what they preach...anything else is hypocrisy...and makes their arguments empty rhetoric..nothing more and nothing less.

You are right, of course. Trouble is most of the posts on Platform Three do get to sound a bit like a record stuck in its groove. One dips in in the faint hope that there might be something other than the usual wingeing on the usual subjects of 'it's the bankers/rich people/life's not fair' but sadly not. As you say, should walk on by but sometimes one gets a bit vexed.

I try very hard not to have anything to do with the tribe Murdoch and the man Branson - is this the sort of thing you had in mind, Resurrection Man?

Why not start a few threads on Platform Three so that we can see the cut of your jib ... and then you can guage from the response as to whether it's the rest of us .. or you

Is this the black or white
                            no shades allowed thread ?

                            one question might be

"Is curiosity the same as a desire to condemn"?

How about answering that question yourself, Flossie? All you holier than thou hypocrites who bang on about News International and how you will never subscribe to Sky or buy The Times....do you vet every company you purchase from? Because if you do, I think you will find your choices severely limited.
