Meryl Streep as The Iron Lady

I'm really looking forward to seeing this in January. From the trailer below, Meryl Streep gives a remarkable performance as the woman who did so much for this country.

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

A great movie, unfortunately they had to cut the scene set in the near future where we dance on her grave.

      not everyone's happy about it

Actress Meryl Streep defends her portrayal of former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as a frail old woman suffering from dementia in The Iron Lady.

              .. "so much" indeed.

Various commentators will judge whether this was 'much that was good' or 'much that was lethal' ...

'...did so much for..' or 'did so much to'?
A couple of interesting points from Charles Moore's piece in yesterday's 'Telegraph': firstly, older people are less likely to look kindly upon her reign; secondly, the film might actually do her reputation more good than harm as those who didn't experience it first-hand come to a more balanced judgement having seen the film.

                  You're on fire today, ammy

Got to admire the Pee-ster for offering himself up as a lamb to the slaughter
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

The woman to whom I sing:

And I hope that you die, and your death will come soon
I will follow your casket, in the pale afternoon
And I'll watch as your lowered, into your deathbed
And I'll stand on your grave till I'm sure that your dead

As a non-thatcherist I wish the contributors to this thread exactly the same as they wish to her.
                        Shame on you.
