To add insult to injury, now we'll all have to help fund amateur51's free bus pass ...
Nice one scotty - I've had my Disabled Person's London Freedom Pass for several years now and it's one of my most treasured possessions.
A group of older gay male friends and I often go out for the day courtesy of our Freedom Passes - we call ourselves 'Last of the Summer Wine' - and take in an exhibition or two, have a cheapish pint (or two) and then on to a bargain lunch, back home in time for an afternoon snooze. In a few weeks we're off to view the Egyptian galley at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford on a cheapo bus deal.
That's why Mandy's references to me as 'sad and pathetic' are rather wide of the mark
Just to put Mandy out of his misery, I'll be 60 just before 2012
I can't be bothered to scan the depths of your profile: I don't actually find you that interesting.
Would that you could feel the same way toward me: I wonder why it is that you feel it necesary to 'stalk' me across the forum, what motivation lies behind your strange, obsessive behaviour?
Second thoughts - I' d rather not know!
I wonder where all your friends are of an evening, when you've nowt better to do than practice using smilies?
So, you're pushing sixty? Well, there's no fool like an old fool.
We seem to be pretty much in agreement on these issues. Just do yourself and the rest of us a favour, please and stop being so unnecessarily rude to am51; it creates a most unpleasant impression and does you no good whatsoever.
Thanks.
By the way, no one is funding my bus pass as I don't possess one and there'd be precious little point in my having one (assuming that even I'd be entitled to one) because the nearest bus to where I am right now is some 3km distant.
The rudeness and disruption is all on his side. Have a look back.
The Cancer (to give him his other name) began at message 12.
This thread was begun to discuss the current state of the Left in British politics and was intended to be a serious discussion. It was never intended to be a 'wind up' and I resent strongly any trolling accusations that it was so intended.
The troll in question, though, is obviously working out some deep personal 'thing', so any discussion of what goes on in his peculiar mind is pointless and would probably also be distasteful.

I was thinking along similar lines, but you have put it in a more kindly and gentlemanly a manner than I could muster. Sorry Mandryka, but there comes a time to take sides in a dispute and I am firmly on the side of amateur.
Well, if he's your pal maybe you could prevail upon him to grow up. I'm also bored with this exchange.
And while you're at it - maybe you could ask him (from me) why it is that he feels it incumbent upon himself to make cheap, usually off-colour comments on every posting I make on this forum? In fact, tries to drag mention of me into practically everything he writes on here.
I think I'm justified in being curious (and more than a little disturbed) by his behaviour.

That much I do accept and it is indeed a serious issue so, were you a woman (which you've clarified that you're not), I might even be inclined to ask you to "calm down" except that me name ain't Dave and I don't keep friends like Mr Clarkson. You've contributed some matgerial that I disagree with and some that I agree with, as have others here and as long as the discussion remains civilised despite differences of opinion then everything would seem to be fine; Clearly, however, that's not always the case.

I neither know, need to know, wish to know or am able to feign interest in what, if anything, you're supposed to mean by this, so let's get back to that civilised discussion, shall we?

I do not know him personally and do not even know his real name.
