    Not Gergiev

I thought certain posters didn't do negative threads? Oh well, must have got myself confused.

There's a world of difference between making a passing comment about a conductor/work/performance in the context of a general discussion and the pointless/poisonous threads you two love to initiate.

'Pointless' may be a a matter of opinion but I have yet to read a 'poisonous' thread originated by myself or anyone else on this forum.

You, I note, do not initiate any threads, poisonous or otherwise, but content yourself to make pointless 'passing' (and always negative) comments on threads started by others - even if these posts did not carry your byline, their disengaged, vaguely sneering and always patronising tone is unmistakeably yours.

Is it any wonder you hold the record for being on other members' ignore lists?

Perhaps you weren't on the old boards Man. The last remark is both poisonous and untrue.

I'd like to think you are being ironic here, Mahlerei, but possibly not! After all, your contributions to the "Stormy Weather" thread are hardly nuggets of the purest, distilled thought, are they? "Oh, the dustmen are late this morning" . "Looks like autumn has arrived early this year". "Where does the time go?" How could anyone describe these pensees as pointless?

What I was trying to do was to chide you gently, by pointing out that your own posts could now and again be seen as "negative" or contributing little of value to the discussion. Maybe, it would be best for us all to stay schtum on occasions eh?

I've had some help with my computer from people on the above thread. Marthe in Rhode Island and many others post regularly. I've started threads on Detective Stories, BPchecks which enable us to share our knowledge and problems. Gardens to visit in the summer, for those that can.

It's called being friendly and getting to know other fellow music lovers. Please stay away as you obviously don't ever chat to friends, if you have any. No-one has to post or read anything. Capice?

Hi Ferret, he spelled it like that but thought it looked funny. My italian is somewhat rusty these days.

I'm puzzled as to what (or whom) salymap is getting is at.

I have also benefited from the shared knowledge and general helpfulness that tends to prevail on this forum. But perhaps the very preponderance of OK folk on here makes dreary misanthropists like mahlerei more conspicuous than they would be otherwise.
