I have the greatest of admiration for Mr Quentin Letts if only that he is his own man and has complete contempt for pseudo-fascist Political Correctness.

In the same way I have the greatest admiration for Ms Germaine Greer if only that she is her own lady and has complete contempt for pseudo-fascist Political Correctness.

      I salute them both!

It's why I stopped reading them. I know from what I read. Simples.

You want to think about the crap you write sometimes.

Indeed, it doesn't matter where on the political spectrum these people are, what's important is that they have the courage to say what they are thinking and are not interested in what's 'expected' of them.

The Guardian was invented for Guardian readers, more fool you for not spotting that.

Does he? How horrid ... he should be quite ashamed of himself!

As for P. G. Tipps, he certainly would consider calling another human being 'repulsive' merely because he disagreed with him/her as being quite beyond his personal bounds of taste, decency and tolerance.

                  However, we are all different!

Whatever your politics, Letts is a bad critic, very much in the Tyann mould (like all bad critics - though incapable of being insightful and witty, as Tynan frequently was). His reviews are all about him, not about giving the reader a balanced assessment of what he has seen. But then the Daily Mail has never been the 'go to' paper for serious arts coverage, or serious anything come to that.

Not everyone wants a 'balanced view' (whatever that is). Some want a perspective on the facts.
