    The May election

already. If the news media are in such a froth about it today (or rather yesterday as it's mow the wee small hours) what's it going to be like over the coming weeks and months? Can we expect a diminuendo before the molto crescendo...or just martellato the whole time?

Head feeling hammered already, but maybe that's just Twelfth Night.

Umm - it's hardly meat for the politics board defunct or otherwise to declare oneself 'politics bored'.

Well it's certainly pushing Newsnight to new heights of inspiration - last night we had Allegra Stratton doing a Bob Dylan in Subterranean Homesick Blues, tossing cards onto the ground to Mr D's soundtrack. Can they keep it up?

I've given up already since it's all too obvious that the real issues (inequality, tax havens, TTIP, electoral reform etc.) will be studiously avoided by all parties, who on the whole would prefer to treat voters like idiots.

I did momentarily wonder if the thread title was intended as a veiled reference to Mr Cameron's likely successor but perhaps I got the wrong end of that particular s(ch)tick...

If none of them wins a majority it will not have mattered all that much how they'll have treated voters, will it?

I think the whole thing will be geared towards Twitter & social media level of discussion - sound bites will seem to be sophisticated compared with political debate in 140 character snippets.

'The May election'? Is she definitely standing as Tory leader then?

Why "sharp"? Why not "flat"? Or, better still, in tune?
