    H&N - HCMF 2011 concert, 19 Nov

Saturday 19 November 10.00pm-1.00am - yes, 3 hours of contemporary music

Sara Mohr-Pietsch introduces a live show from Huddersfield Town Hall as part of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival 2011.

The programme features the world premiere of a major new work by Richard Barrett - Construction - a two-hour piece which explores ideas about urban living, both through promised utopias and harsh realities.

The performers are ELISION with vocalists Deborah Kayser, Ute Wassermann and Carl Rosman, conducted by Eugene Ughetti.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Not the only one on the programme who's missing/missed!

Can I take this opportunity to say that the Hear & Now board has been set up for those who are interested in contemporary music.

The obscure Mr. Wood may be found over at r3ok.com from time to time, as can Mr. Sudden, and others of those involved.

I can't make weekends either, so it will have to be Thear and Then[sic] for me.

There's an interview with Richard Barrett and a short video about CONSTRUCTION on the hcmf website

Except the video link doesn't work. It's at http://vimeo.com/31206887

It's not the work Richard Barrett is writing at the moment and it's progress is on the r3ok creating music thread?

Should we complain now that it will only be on the iplayer at 56kbps?
