    Caroline Shaw on Private Passions

Today's programme was a compilation of items from past editions featuring women composers. I just loved Caroline Shaw's Allemande (Partita for 8 voices). What incredible performers! It made me want to have a go at performing the piece...but finding a bunch of such versatile and outside-the-box singers (talking, note-bending, changing voice-production, etc) might be difficult. Do have a listen...it's a fun piece.

Michael Berkeley presents a special programme to celebrate women composers.

    ...about 40 mins from start.

The piece greatly impressed me. It was the choice of American novelist Richard Powers, whose novel The Overstory I happen to be reading atm.
