The 42nd Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival is moving towards its final weekend of events, and R3 begins its four-week series of highlights from the Festival with a Live "mixtape", broadcast from the freezing wastes of Bates Motel. Featured are:
Two improvised sets by Saxophonist Evan Parker (b1944) with a quartet from his regular collaborators, the Electroacoustic Ensemble.
Three Sound Poems by French Artist, Isidore Isou (1925-2007), performed by Lore Lixenberg.
Hanna Hartman(b1961)'s Horizontal Cracking in Concrete Pavements for two Saxophones & electronics, played by Anthony Brown, Carl Raven, & the Composer.
Two pieces by Frank Denyer(b1943): Woman, Viola & Crow, a song for viola player, performed by Elisabeth Smalt, and Frog, for bowed strings.
And Morton Feldman(1926-87)'s Extensions 3 and Intersection 3 played by pianist Philip Thomas.
