Sterling Moths; NMS, Sat 21/9/19; 10:00pm

Back to the usual time - just thought I'd mention that, knowing how we'd all hate it if we missed the first hour. "Presented by Tom Service, Introduced by Kate Molleson" it says on the NMS website - so anyone's guess! Some more "mainstream" stuff this week, too (Gordon, Murail, & Goebbels) which hints at taking the one distinguishing feature of the programme for me - the concentration on less familiar/"accessible" New stuff.

Heiner Goebbels(b1952): The Excursion into the Mountains; Theatre of Voices/Paul Hillier

Cassie To(b1994): Avialae (for flute, clarinet, cello, percussion and piano); Ensemble Offspring

Leo Chadburn(b1978): The Indistinguishables (for narrator and string quartet) Gemma Saunders/Bozzini Quartet

Michael Gordon(b1956): A Western (WP); Theatre of Voices/Paul Hillier

Tristan Murail(b1947): Tellur; Sam Cave (guitar)

Laurence Crane(b1961): Piano Piece no.23 'Ethiopian Distance Runners'; Mark Knoop (piano)

The best in new music, this time inspired by cowboys, moths, birds, mortality and beyond.

I am unable to find anything about tonight's NMS, either on BBC Sounds or details in Radio Times.
