Very tempting but I can only make the series if I can arrange to crash at a friend's place. A week's worth might be asking a bit much. If only Cafe OTO events started and finished earlier.

It's a bit late, for which apologies, having only just managed to catch up with this month's events - I just draw attention to two forthcoming evenbts at Cafe Oto.

Tomorrow (3 Jan) - for anyone, unlike me, able to go - John Tilbury is due to give a solo piano recital, starting at 8.30 - entry £8

And this coming Sunday (6th) the trio of that excellent under-recognised pianist Peter Urpeth, where he is accompanied by bassist Oli Brice and percussionist Terry Day. Terry goes back to the founding days of the London Musicians' Collective, in the mid-1970s, and there are possibly some on here as knows him. Also 8.30 for £8.

Bryn has already drawn attention to The Horse improvising collective, due to appear at L'Klectik near Waterloo station on Tues 15th, featuring an electronics plus acoustic group warming up for The Remote Viewers trio of bassist John Edwards and saxophonists Adrian Northover and David Petts.

The John Tilbury event tomorrow night is not strictly a solo affair. It also incudes the participation of poet Harry Gilonis. It has been confirmed that John will be including a performance of Feldman's For Bunita Marcus. Next week there's a 2 day residency for Frederic and Jan Rzewski. Whether Fred will be in attendance at Borough New Music on Tuesday, I do not know, but two works of his will be included in that lunchtime's concert at St George the Martyr.

“He has, for decades, been making thought-provoking, heart-wrenching music about issues that dominate the headlines today: the perils of incarceration, the tension between the government and the governed, the struggle for gay rights, the decimation of the industrial working class. …

Thanks for that clarification, Bryn. I've noted down the St George the Martyr lunchtime freebie for my attendance, hopefully.
