    Tectonics, 2018 II; H&N, Sat 26/5/18, 10:00pm

Kate Molleson introduces a concert given on 6th May by the BBCSSO conducted by Ilan Volkov in the Grand Hall, Glasgow:

Ashley Fure(b1982): Bound to Bow (European premiere)
Evan Johnson(b1980): measurement as contrition: three canons (WP)
Kristín Þóra Haraldsdóttir: In Praise of Darkness (UKP)
    Marc Sabat(b1965): The Luminiferous Aether

Ashley Fure is a terrific composer - recently featured in the New Music Days in Witten (and I hope that at least some of those WDR recordings find their way onto R3); Evan Johnson's work has fascinated me since I first encountered it in Huddersfield about ten years ago; and works by Haraldsdóttir and Sabat have appeared fairly recently on H&N. Should be a good 'un.

Completing the programme, Anton Lukoszevieze performs Solipse for 'cello & tape by Rytis Mazulis(b1961)

Two out of four for me, though I mainly familiar with Marc Sabat as a violinist, rather than for his compositions. It does surprise me that you do not know Evan Johnson's work.
