    New Music North-West; H&N, Sat 20/1/18; 10:00pm

Tom McKinney presents new music from the north west of England.

Tom McKinney presents a concert recorded last November given by the BBC Philharmonic (conducted by Mark Heron) and Psappha.

    Mario Duarte(b1984): Metztli
    Grace-Evangeline Mason(b1995): Kintsukuroi (Golden Repair)
    Daniel Kidane(b1986): Sirens
    Laura Bowler(b:1986) 3811 Nautical Miles
    Larry Goves(b1980): hollow yellow willow

    David Horne(b1962): Resonating Instruments
Tom Coult(b1988): Two Games and a Nocturne

I think (details aren't clear on the Beeb website) that the first five pieces are orchestral works - the Duarte at least also includes live Electronics - and the last pair are performed by Psappha.

Thanks Ferney - though I get more and more worried at the number of composers featured on this programme who are young enough to be my grandchildren!

You're worried about grand paternity suits?

I just hope that none of the pieces ends up sounding like something that could have been written by someone who could have been one of my grandparents.
