Recorded at last month's week-long Festival in the huge Arts venue Ambika P3 of the University of Westminster, Tom Service introduces works by Chris Newman (b1958), Leo Chadburn(b1980), father & daughter duo YeahYou, and Joan La Barbara(b1947).

La Barbara is a fascinating composer & performer, whose sensuous & sensual Music has been greatly admired by those who know it - it deserves to reach a wider audience in the UK.
Thus far I've never got on with Newman's Music - I always listen (as I shall this week) in hope of "conversion", but always come away wishing I hadn't bothered.
I don't know Chadburn's work, nor that of YeahYou - but the latter pair at least arouses my interest: how many father/daughter composing & performing duos from Newcastle, who go around in a transit van, making field recordings in IKEA car parks upon which they base their improvised performances (vocals and lo-fi electronics)?!
