Thanks, Bryn. Yup - definitely the wrong Brian! Not surprising to see Ivan Hewett being so enthusiastic, but surprised that SM-P is being so MotR. Yes, "holy minimalism" was a seismic cultural event - fitting in with the contemporary idea of "the end of history" - so earns its place in the Essay series. But nothing about Spectralism? New Complexity? Wandelweiser? The Internet? Is there a second week of programmes, or are all these to be crammed into Tom Service's contribution?

Which seems to have the wrong title - shouldn't it read "I can't be bothered to find out what's going on these days because my view of music is stuck in the 20th century"? And SMP's basic idea seems to have been lifted more or less straight from the opening chapter of TRJ's book... (the other chapters are worth reading too!)
