Note the later start, and the shorter (90mins) programme - Musorgsky's Khovantschina takes up the main part of the evening schedules (much more "Modern" than anything heard during Mr Anderson's recent Immersions, so I for one can forgive this abridgement).
Sara Mohr-Pietsch and Neil Luck discuss "recent releases from the world of New Music". No details given, but I wouldn't mind betting SM-P gets to discuss the recent HCR CD release of Aaron Cassidy(b1976)'s The Wreck of Former Boundaries coupled with Liza Lim(b1966)'s How Forests Think. (She was at the HCMF concert where the disc was recorded, and introduced the Lim piece in a pre-concert talk with the composer.) The ever-astonishing ELISION ensemble (jointly celebrating the 30th anniversary of their existence, and the twentieth anniversary of their first appearance at the Festival) was (and is) conducted by Carl Rosman.
... and mebbe (just mebbe) Apartment House's recent release of the Cage Concerto for Piano coupled with Christian Wolff's Resistance, also on HCR:
... and, pretty please, some of the new releases from the Another Timbre label???
AND - building up to this year's 40th Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival - a final conversation between Andrew Kurowski and Robert Worby discussing BBC archive performances from past Festivals.
(Ignore the advertised "2 hrs" duration - it starts at 10:30 and ends at Midnight for Geoffrey Smith.)
