Dying seems to be very much in fashion these days, indeed it's all the rage! ....

... I was at a (lovely) 70th birthday party yesterday. I know that both wife (aet: 70) and husband (aet: 66) have terminal illnesses.

I was thinking - one sign of age is when you start ponderin' - "I wonder whether husband x or wife y will die first..." I mean - I've known these friends since undergraduate days back in 1971 - at that time the question wd never have arisen - when does it become a matter of interest?

Thanks for your good wishes! My 80th birthday is coming up near the end of the year. Not at all happy about it and want to complain to somebody. Surely the government could do something to stop these things happening?
