Hear and Now - Radio 3

      Thought it started at 10.30

Not used to my new telly-free schedule!

Great music, I could get used to this every Saturday night

      (Something for orchestra and tape)

Shame there's no way to record these programmes - that last piece was amazing!

Something for orchestra and tape, I didn't catch the title or composer.

Where can you find the list of works on this programme? Currently there's an excellent piece for small percussion ensemble, but I've no idea who the composer or performers are.

Many thanks Bryn - very much appreciated. I liked what I heard and want to follow it up. The current Roscoe Mitchell is very interesting.

Seems I've been wasting my time watching MOTD!!!

Does anyone know if the Radio Times lists the full programme of H&N?

If so, I'll go into my local newsagent every Thursday with a pencil and piece of paper. Or maybe even buy a copy.

Lack of detail about radio programmes was one of the (many) reasons I stopped buying - or even "consulting" - RT. The R3 website is a more reliable site - and that the link to each week's programme is given by some poor schmuck on this very Forum.

                          This week's is here:

                            Many thanks ferney

I swear that list wasn't there when I looked earlier!

I've only been listening since 10.15ish because I thought it started at 10.30, but what I've heard is absolutely amazing music. Is H&N often as good as this? Or is tonight's programme exceptional? When I've caught up on listen again, it's never been anywhere as good as tonight's transmission.

It's often as good as this - but it depends on the Artists (performers, composers, and composer/performers) involved. Volkov can be relied upon to be involved with Music that deserves to be heard, and to present it with the attention and care to make sure it gets heard in good, well-prepared performances.

That last improvisational piece with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra was sensational!
