Australian Jazz trio The Necks, and Piano/Percussion Quartet yarn/wire join the BBC Scottish SO conducted by Ilan Volkov for the first of three programmes recorded at this year's Tectonics Festival held in Glasgow earlier this month.
Included in this first programme are works by American Linda Catlin Smith(b1957)'s Widerness (2005) , Frenchman Francoise-Bernard Mache(b1935)'s Kassandra (1977), and American Andrew McIntosh's Hyenas in the Temples of Pleasure (2012). A solo improvization by Saxophonist Roscoe Mitchell (b1940) and a joint improvization by the Orchestra and The Necks complete the programme.
