Back to Huddersfield for more events from this year's Festival - a great, great joy for me to be able to hear again Rebecca Saunders' wonderful Skin as performed by Klangforum Wein (with the utterly marvellous Juliet Fraser as vocal soloist) at the first concert I attended this year. And then works by Chaya Czernowin (grotesquely underrepresented on R3), the Ardittis' premiere of Jennifer Walshe's Everything is Important, Michael Cuttings' I AM STRANGE (something to do with Mr Cumberbatch's recent film?) - and a classic from the '70s that sounds fresher and more dangerous than most of the stuff deemed worthy of an award for "Inspiration" last week; Xenakis' Keren. I couldn't get to those concerts, so this is a particularly juicy selection for me. And I like the way Saunders ended last week's programme and starts this week's - marvellous programme planning, I have no doubt.
And the professionals are back to introduce the works, too!
