Indeed. And I would add that people who don’t like football are really weird.

Fair’s got nothing to do with football - we even got rid of the fairs Cup yonks ago.

so what about about the fair play league?

I think we may have drifted off topic.

What? All of them? Could you explain why you believe this to be so?

Might some consider that to be rather unsurprising, given that it reads "Nothing by Either of the Matthews Brothers"; after all, just think how much music alone (never mind anything else) isn't by either of them...

So you consider it to be an unfair sport, yes? Given that, in a mere decade or two's time, the most widely regarded of its professional participants might well be changing hands for 10-figure sums, one might wonder how significant such unfairness is...

Never mind; let's try to return to the topic, which suggests that there are only two Matthews brothers. As the word "neither" suggests only two brothers yet Sir Stanley had three of them (so four brothers in all), which of them might you suppose to be referred to by the use of the word "neither"?

As indeed I just suggested in the post immediately preceding yours...

What's the betting, though, that someone might throw a spanner in the works and mention Cerys (not that she's anyone's brother, of course)?

                        1. Buy Sky Sports subscription.
                        2. Buy BT Sport subscription.
                        3. Watch live matches & ignore MOTD (avoiding Gary Lineker, for which relief...).

Sorry, must dash - Liverpool v Leicester K.O. 17:30 (BT). Having already dragged myself out of bed at 1215 for Manchester derby (SS1).

I've been once to Bergen which was a memorable visit on account of containing the heaviest rainfall I've ever experienced.
Interesting comment re rainfall. We once went to a village in Sweden, perhaps on the way back to Göteborg. We walked into the village, and it started to rain. Within an incredibly short period of time we were in around a foot of water. We took refuge in the library, but then it closed, and we had to walk back to our hotel through the water. Not sure if the people there were used to this, but sandbags were brought out to block off the entrances to subterranean garages. It was just so fast, and it wasn't even as if the place was at the bottom of a hill or anything - basically flat.

                            Interesting
                            I'm going on Monday
I used to teach at UL (Limerick) so will be interesting to see whether Bergen is similar in terms of precipitation

(must take Frank's After the rain just in case)

We went to Bergen and decided to visit Grieg's house in Troldhaugen. It's about 8 miles away and being too tight to go by taxi we caught a bus which deposits you about a mile from the house. It of course rained quite heavily during this short walk. Despite brolly we arrived a bit bedraggled but the house was well worth the effort of getting there.
