Definitely gonna try and get to that.

I also really fancy the Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou piano pieces. Sounds very interesting.

Many thanks for the heads-up ProfessorGongGong

Ellen Fullman is a new name to me, but I can definitely recommend the Tsegué-Mariam Guèbrou works. She has led a remarkable life and has recorded a number of her works. There is a Buda CD in their Éthiopiquesseries (860122, no21 in the Éthiopiquesseries) which I frequently play and wholehearedly recommend. The sleeve notes contain a lot of information about the pianist, her family and its background, plus archive photographs.

As I am based in the north of England I doubt if I will be able to get to the concert, but I hope that BBC R3 producers are aware and will record it for either Hear and Now or World on 3. It is great to see that Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou is still playing in her nineties and able to travel to London to do so!

http://www.emahoymusicfoundation.org/ offers more information about this remarkable woman and a charitable foundation she has set up.
