This was mentioned during Sunday's event at Iklectik. The speaker related that it was recorded at Union Chapel, Islington, on their Henry Willis organ, though not using its hydraulic system, and that they had heard a pre-release copy and was very impressed by the very low rumbling she heard. At this, I was unable to suppress a chuckle. I then felt constrained to explain why. An underground line runs beneath the chapel and a low rumble fitting her description can sometimes be heard as a train passes below, the chapel acting as a resonating chamber. I eagerly await the release, hopefully including a streaming option via QOBUZ, to hear whether what she heard was from the organ or the Northern City Line underground tunnel. In recordings I have made in the chapel in 1984, 200 and 2015, such rumble punctuates some quiet passages.

At last - they've been rumbled!!!

It got a little weirder. When I asked if it was Claire Singer (who is closely associated with the Union Chapel organ) playing, I was misheard and told not the was no singing it was an organ. Turns out that, for the recording, Radigue specialist Frédéric Blondy was the organist.
