A New Grand Organ _____ The inauguration and blessing of our new Grand Organ was a truly spiritual experience. Thank you to all who contributed to the Liturgy, ushering and serving. The Grand Organ...

Late edit: There is an article about this organ in the April edition of Choir and Organ.

Apparently on the Bombarde manual, the Trompette Pontificale was, at the blessing and consecration of the organ, dedicated thus:

16' to to the parish priest
8' to The Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster
4' to His Holiness Pope Francis

Slightly ironically, the 3 stops are all of the same rank (!).

I'm not usually a fan of church organ music but was bowled over by a piece titled 'Paean' by Kenneth Leighton at the end of Choral Evensong last Sunday, 26 June(just before Jazz Record Requests).
Not sure who the organist was.
Can anyone recommend a recording of this?

Not that many available, and you may well be influenced by what else is included:

I have the Simon Preston set.
If you can stream, you might be able to trace some of the compilations/sets and give them an airing.

The organist you heard will have been Ian Wicks:

Lambeth Palace Chapel installs a Viscount Organ. Read the story of the organ installation in this historic London building, the residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Some churches just cannot afford a good pipe organ, or cannot afford to have an old, failing pipe organ restored. Some time ago I was asked to advise on an organ for a brand new Methodist church near where I live. Hands were thrown up in horror at the price of a pipe organ...both the price of a modest-sized new one, or the price of having a secondhand instrument that was becoming available transplanted and re-built. (The latter wasn't a good idea anyway.) So having heard good reports of Copeman Hart, I delved a bit deeper. I've no idea what they are like nowadays or who owns the 'brand', but back then (30+years ago?) they had many things in their favour. For a start they didn't (as I understand it) do digital sampling, but 'voiced' their ranks individually, choosing the attack and the range of overtones as a pipe-maker might do. They were also very determined about speaker placement. They co-ordinated with the church architect to have two specially-built brick-built structures forming part of the rear wall in which to place the bass speakers where they produce
a much better sound. (Nothing worse than ugly boxes stuck randomly on a wall.)

I have to say that as a sceptic about electronics, I was astonished at the result and at the care which Copeman Hart took over the installation. I respected also their decision to scale the organ (a modest 2-manual) to suit the church and the church's needs. I still play it occasionally when asked to accompany something, and I have to say it is the most convincing electronic organ I've ever come across. Nothing worse than a small church with an electronic wannabe cathedral organ!

                            Painfully so.

Surely a service of Tudor music with a hired box organ would have been preferable.

                              Eton College Chapel

The Hill organ in Eton College Chapel was built in 1885, re-using a little earlier pipework - notably the 32' basses which J L Pearson cleverly incorporated into his magnificent new double case. The lavish decoration was by Clayton and Bell. The instrument was rebuilt by Hill, with new soundboards…

When we attended the Festival some 50 years ago, the church had a fairly standard 'village church organ' that wasn't really up to the standard of music being preformed. Then, recently, came the new Harrison:
