Live from King’s College, Cambridge / Daniel Hyde 14.10.20

This concert (interesting interval interview with Daniel H just completed as I type) doesn’t seem to have been flagged anywhere

Daniel Hyde plays a wide-ranging programme at the organ of King's College, Cambridge.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Caught some of it driving home from work last night: superbly played (of course) but also a well-balanced recording. The rebuild there was worth every penny, as with Canterbury evidenced on the same day.

I must hear this! BTW Radio 3 played Bruckner’s motet Ave Maria, from the last cd that the late Sir Stephen Cleobury recorded this morning.

...and another this morning: iam lucis orto sidere - new to me and beautifully sung by St Bride's - makes a nice change from the massively over-played locus.
