St Thomas 5th Ave New York

Following Draco's prompt to tune in for CE today (4pm Sun 13th Nov), I am wondering what St Thomas's is doing for an organ at the moment? As I understand it the existing instrument has been decommissioned and the new Dobson won't be ready until next year.

They have two organs by Taylor & Boody - a small single-manual 'box' organ, and a fabulous three-manual one on the West gallery, which, I guess, isn't used with the choir. I think that the 'big' organ has been replaced by an electronic using the 'Hauptwerk' software, and I believe they are using the Salisbury version.
Hope that is of some use!

Correct on Salisbury. Major work has been done.

Saint Thomas Fifth Avenue offers at least one mass every single day of the year. On Sundays there is a 9am service suitable for children and families, an 11am High Mass and, during the academic year, a 4pm service of Choral Evensong. Also during the academic term, there are 5:30pm services with our Choir of Men and Boys on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

      Has major info.
