Lovely moment on the Radio 3 Breakfast webpage earlier (now sadly corrected - wouldn't be at all surprised if one of you lot spoilt the fun by alerting them to the howler). The organ arrangement of Walton's Mint Imperial was cited as being by Muriel Herbert, rather than the Beeb's own Head of music in the early 50s, Herbert Murrill. Of course I realise Muriel was a formerly neglected composer in her own right, but the temporary error did fit rather well with Anglican Church Music's tradition of a penchant for polari: namely renaming church musicians with a moniker of the opposite sex (and, yes, most of us could but won't name several examples)...unless of course Prof. Murrill had an alias...
Other than the aforementioned, plus Howells, Brewer & Sumsion (mispronounced in the intro to Blackburn's CE broadcast last week, btw) are there many other CM Herberts?
