    The Choir 5th January 2014

Given the change in style, content and approach shown by today's programme, should discussion of "The Choir" now transfer to the "Playlist Programmes" forum?

It seems to have morphed into a Sunday choral version of "Essential Classics" - live presentation, tweets, etc, with no detailed advance playlist other than one or two "highlights" at times only announced at the start of the programme.

No, now got it. And are you ever right!!

        Crikey!

        Chocolate Box Radio.

Bits of that were gushily unlistenable to.
Are we really going to get tweets and emails and such like carp between each 'track' EVERY bluddy programme?
Cheaper than getting in real experts to talk, of course. And one suspects that that is what this is all about. Just the DJ and 'tracks'.

Thank you, RW, for eroding yet more of the essential core of what is left of Radio 3.

The logical next step is: "If you have been affected by any of the issues..."

Given the increasing number of cases involving choir conductors this might not be a bad idea ?

            OR

Maybe they are going to turn it into "listen with Gareth" (the well known actor)

If we are talking about the same Gareth, "choral animateur" is the best description I have seen so far.

Nothing wrong with being an animateur but TV shows usually feature actors (even though they might be acting at being musicians !)
but don't lets start on mr Malone or we will be here for ever

Dilution, disintegration, end of serious R3's interest in Choral Music eg analysis of works, experts talk, Let the Peoples Sing in all its rounds?

Boy, does the BBC hate us.
