The choir will continue to exist but in a different form.

With the men singing as contracted on Sundays and on an occasional basis otherwise and the boys singing on other days on their own this is not very much different to the way the choir operates at St Albans where the standard of the singing is as good as any other cathedral/college choir and better than most even those where the men and boys always sing the services together apart from the usual boys' voices only day.

What Llandaff have to do is to set about making sure they get the funding of the music on a secure footing for the future and ensure the continuance of a financially sustainable foundation and if this proves to be this current proposal it is by no means the end of the world.
