What were the main characteristics of PL's time at Kings ?

I am a bit too young ! A definite listen next Wednesday.

A must listen for me too! My treble days were long gone by 1981 but the Wood anthem was one of my big favourites during my time in the choir stalls (1965 -1975).

I'd strongly welcome more archive recordings of CE from time to time.

Y-e-e-s, but why not in choir holiday periods and not when all the choirs are all in full flood?

Perhaps someone has let them down next Weds?

It's half term next week, isn't it?

That's why I'm singing in a cathedral next Sunday.

Half-term week isn't the same everywhere.....eg Devon and Leicestershire. In any case, Oxbridge Colleges don't have half-terms. But enjoy singing, Jean!

...as, for example, on Sun 29th Dec (St Paul's/John Scott from 1988). Next week is the week before Half Term in most of England, so that might be why CE the following week is from Paisley Abbey, whose HT was earlier.

Looking forward to hearing undergraduate John Butt's Bach playing.

But the fact that this archive recording is of an Oxbridge college doesn't mean the only possible live broadcast would be from one.

And I'm puzzled as to why 'John Scott' is added to that title line?

About time we heard some of the George Guest St J's services.

                        No, but their schools do.

I think the poster meant Clare, Queen's, Trinity etc, not John's and KCC.

But the choir carries on as normal, with the boys. Doesn't it?

I think next week is Easter in Leicestershire
