In the 80's Reading University used to make all its music students sing in the university choir, with interesting results. I don't know what its musical life is like now.
Bristol University has a number of ensembles open to all students, though the standard goes up and down.
Bath is a scientific university so has never had a music department and extra-curricular music has never been a very high priority, though it did arrange tuition. I used to have singing lessons there and my teacher would make derisory comments about the University's budget and the fact that none of it was devoted to providing a piano for teaching on which all the keys worked.Comment
