    In the bleak mid-Win(ches)ter

Harold Darke's setting popped up on the car radio this morning.
It was beautifully, yes beautifully sung by Winchester CC, and I could have sworn it dated from, let's say, the 1980s. But no, it was Andrew Lumsden. So pure head-voices and well-blended back rows are still around. It made my day.

Shame I missed it. A real classic. Simple and beautiful.

In fact, they performed an hour long Christmas music recital yesterday at Symphony Hall, Birmingham accompanied by Thomas Trotter.

Thanks teamsaint. You certainly made my day. Just listened to it and agree with ardcarp's initial comments.
