Not exactly, no. I always look like that. But seriously, I couldn't quite spot the connection between angels and the Poulenc Gloria. I mean, I don't dislike the piece, but what have angels got to do with it?

I've loved the plainchant Assumpta est Maria since buying the George Guest LP of the Palestrina mass of that name.

And the relevance to this thread? "Assumpta est Maria in coelos: gaudent angeli laudentes benedicunt Dominum."

I turned on towards the end of the programme, but in time to hear Carl Ruti's Missa Angelorum. I enjoyed it, liked its idiom, and thought the BBC Singers sounded rather better than usual. There was a good solo tenor (just a few bits) and the sops were doing their best to sing quite straight. They were certainly well directed by Stepen Jackson. I could see the piece being quite popular as part of a cathedral/college Eucharist. Does anyone use it?

No prior warning, I fear, of the memorial to John Alldis. Worth listening to, but what a shock for those who had tuned in hoping to hear music about angels? Was it advertised in RT as having such a segment?
