Charles Wood - Irish composer or church music

Best known for his anthems, Hail, gladdening light and O Thou, the Central Orb, Charles Wood taught both Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells at the RCM. He, in turn, had been taught by both Parry and Stanford.

        Typo.

        Should've read "Perbert".

Not quite sure I've grasped the substance of this thread. Can anyone explain (typos and puns apart) ?

To ensure that Charles Wood (who took George Butterworth for piano and organ at the RCM) isn't confused with Charles Wood (http://www.charleswoodbanjo.com/) or the man who wrote the theme to "The Archers" (which isn't so difficult as his name was Arthur).
