    Organ buffers?

Readers of the publication Choir & Organ will have noticed that the Sultan of Oman has installed a rather large and presumably expensive four-manual organ in his new Royal Opera House at Muscat.
What makes this rather unusual (if I've got this right) is that when operas are staged the organ, as part of a 'concert shell', is wheeled out of the way on a 50 metre railway track. One wonders if someone plays 'Sleepers Wake' during the journey?

I gather this Sultan has a long-held and fervent enthusiasm for Western Classical music - I've come across a couple of people who have been employed out there to play in the orchestra or teach music.

wow !! - one might think the extreme heat would affect the tuning

slightly off topic, there was a programme on Saturday morning Radio 4 about the Qatar Philharmonic
