More Winchester Cathedral Organ music - 2012 Summer series

Have added the third in the series to the Forum Calendar but below are details.

This will be Simon's last concert with us before he heads off to Tewkesbury so, it would be wonderful to have a full house that evening.

Richard McVeigh played his final one with us yesterday and it was well-supported and great fun.

Please come along and join us if you possibly can. Andy Lumsden will play the following week which I will also post soon.

    All best wishes. Liz

Simon Bell, Assistant Director of Music, puts the Cathedral’s Father Willis Organ through its paces with a programme that takes us on a tour of 19th and 20th century organ music in Germany and England, ending with Maurice Duruflé’s flamboyant Suite of 1932.

Find out more about Simon Bell.

    Programme:

Mendelssohn Sonata IV in B flat
    Harris A Fancy
Elgar Pomp & Circumstance March no 5 in C
Schumann Canon in A flat – Sketch in F minor – Sketch in D flat
    Duruflé Suite

Tickets: £8 including a glass of wine or fruit juice, available online from the Cathedral Box Office or by phone on 01962 857275.

The Choir and all matters choral?

Bit off-thread, aren't we, with this intrusive advertising?

Hadn't realised I was being an intrusive nuisance. Apologies to all. Liz
