    Wot? No Maundy broadcast?

Having heard the Maundy Service trailed on the news this a.m. I assumed (obviously wrongly) that it might be broadcast as in days of yore. The feudal aspects of the ceremony couldn't interest me less, but I would like to have heard/seen York Minster Choir doing its stuff.

It always used to be broadcast on radio regularly but suddenly stopped. I have no idea why this happened.

It seems to be televised now when it comes from Westminster Abbey which is where it always took place before the Queen decided to take it around the country.

I would have thought that York would make for wonderful television let alone a radio transmission.

The Royal Maunday as broadcast live on ITV from Lincoln Cathedral while I was a chorister there. Colin Walsh directed, Simon Morley played. Wonderful
