      Voices, blend, choral sound very good. But I did feel that the result lacked a certain esprit.....the expression 'feet of lead' wouldn't go away from my mind.
      On a personal matter, Mrs A and I have sung the Gorecki several times, and among our choral colleagues a certain boredom sets in, partly to do with its minimalism and partly the repetition of 'Maria'. I think its effect on a listener of meditative bent is probably more enjoyable.

            I once did this piece with my octet in a Suffolk church (Brundish - fab acoustics!) and our countertenor, whose stage demeanour was normally impeccable, actually got the giggles!

              I felt the same and there were some intonation issues. A resonant acoustic hid a lot of detail.

                  I think it’s the largest chapel in Oxford . Supposedly built to be precisely one foot longer than Christ Church.
