    Choirs at the coronation

I know there is a separate thread about the Coronation music, but I'm interested to know about the welcome inclusion of girl choristers. I gather Truro girls' choir were there, presumably the robed ones. A great opportunity for them! But who were the girls in what looked like school uniform? Maybe Keraulophone can assist!

Interesting to see the small contingent from The Monteverdi Choir singing along on the back desks.

I thought Andrew N. did a great job, especially since there had to be critical co-ordination between singers, orchestra and fanfare trumpets. Glad someone of Papano's sensitivity was waving the stick up top.

    Page 5 gives the details.
For some reason I can't just copy and post the relevant section.

      Methody, I guess.

"We're really, really thrilled to have that Belfast connection and to represent Northern Ireland is just really important, it's great"

Ah thanks. Yes I've just found them in the small print at the beginning of The Order of Service. The Methodist College of Belfast has always had a very good choir, so I'm glad they were represented in the Abbey today.

I cannot put enough emojis here to emphasize how amazing, moving, stunning, etc. etc. the music was today. I had a continuous lump in my throat. The two girls choirs emphasized how far we've come since 1953 plus the ethnic diversity of the partcipants, reflecting the richness of British society now. How the the trumpet gallery, the organ gallery and the choir stalls coordinated so seamlessly is just truly amazing. Good that JEG in interview tonight praised the King in his excellent choice of music and support for music in the UK plus pointing out the parlous support from the Arts Council and latterly the BBC.
