I really enjoyed today's broadcast. Quite like a forgotten era when it was just 'eavesdropping' on a regular CE. I don't want to use the word 'ordinary' because I think the choir did a great job. The treble line had a slight but delightful fragility. Manchester!

An enticing gentle Gibbons Introit set the mood. Very good solos and I found the top line delicate and energetic as needed. Excellent lower voices heard at their best in the superb Handel sung with due celebratory verve. The orchestral part deftly transferred to the organ with no loss of colour or precsion by Geoffrey Woollatt.
