    Unlikely I think . Just too costly. More likely a links problem as outlined above. Sounds SO much better.

      Yes I’m sure but this doesn’t explain the failure of the microphones for a lesson and increasing the level from somewhere else on Wednesday. There seemed to be appalling problems from the cathedral to the sound control, not just the feed to BH.

        It’a very difficult to remotely diagnose the problem as the transmission route from voice through microphone , mixing desk , encoding , satellite or ground links, control room, transmitter etc is so complex . There should have been multiple problems - some could have been fixed in post production or even by re recording .It’s all a bit of a miracle any of it works really. The reason I don’t think is that there was a separate mixing desk and team is that in thirty years of live broadcasting I’ve never come across that level of backup except for live Royal Outside broadcasts and national sporting events . It’s just too expensive.
