What a wonderful new organ the church has invested in
See my post under The Organ. There are two new-ish Skrabl organs in West Dorset not far from where I live. This is a bit of a surprise in these bucolic parts! However I gather that their prices for mechanical action organs with elegant cases are somewhat cheaper compared with other European builders. This may be because they are based in Slovenia. I don't know. But I guess their prices will creep up as their instruments get more exposure to the musical world.

Definitely the best Vespers I’ve heard on CE. Electrifying!

It was indeed. I think the choir may have had a bit of extra help from other singers. Nothing wrong with that for a special broadcast.

I do like the un-interrupted flow of sung Vesers. I went to one such at Buckfast Abbey yesterday where it was sung by the professional choir. No messing about...and impressive. Also impressive was the very professionally produced 27-page printed booklet with all the plainsong 4-stave-notated throughout for the congregation with English translations for the non-Latinists. And this was a routine service, for the 'Thirteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time'. So presumably they produce two such booklets each Sunday, one for Mass and one for Vespers.
