I wonder whether this will be the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields, St Martin’s Voices, St Martin’s Chamber Choir, the Community Choir, the Children’s Voices of St Martin-in-the-Fields or some combination thereof?

According to the church website it should be the Choral Scholars.

Just listened through headphones. Excellent direction and organ accompaniment. 'Togetherness' excellent. To be a bit picky, the overall effect was top-line dominated. Especially noticeable in Murrill in E (excellent canticle setting) and the Leighton anthem...one of my favourites. ATB ensemble was very good and well-tuned though.

My chief gripe is a trend (BBC-inspired?) for every item in CE, in this case, psalms, hymns and anthems, to be 'explained' beforehand in detail by the celebrant. This spoils the flow of CE, and is surely unnecessary to anyone who takes the trouble to tune in at 4pm? For instance what was the point of informing us that 'Crown Him with Many Crowns' runs to 12 verses, when we only had four*?

*In A&MR it has 5 and in EH it has 6.

Agree with Mr A regarding the musical element. The whole full of joy from the first Alleluias to the Prelude and Fugue in C by Bach. The spoken element isn't BBC inspired but from the Rev Sam Wells, who never says a wasted word and leaves one full of encouragement that the world isn't all bad and maybe there is hope for a better future. He relates the messages in the music and biblical texts to today's problems. An equally rewarding listen is the Ascension Day Communion from St Martin's the following day on Radio 4.
