Just caught up on this CE. I really, really enjoyed it...a small, excellent professional group giving us a beautifully crafted service for Holy Week. And what a bass soloist in the Tomkins Canticles!

I wish celebrants didn't elaborate on hymns/psalms/anthems. A welcome at the start is OK but it would be so good to have a CE (especially a dignified one such as this) that was allowed to run from beginning to end according to the BCP without 'explanations' !

Did anyone else notice the superb sensitivity of the organ accompaniment in the hymns and canticles? Absolutely with the singers down to every nuance of phrasing.

I entirely agree. And it was probably on account to the clergy commentary that we missed a number of stanzas from the closing hymn. But thanks, Choir, for wonderful canticles and anthem - much appreciated!
