Westminster Abbey - A service of thanksgiving

This was broadcast on Radio 4 this morning. I only heard the last half. Bring us O Lord God (Harris) was very beautifully sung.
I was slightly puzzled that this had been recorded at an earlier date...or maybe just the Choir items had been taken from earlier recordings?

Yes, puzzled me as well - like when was it sung / recorded?

This must have been put together using older recordings of the choir. Robert Quinney left Westminster in 2014, which dates the pieces involving choir and organ, while the voluntary is played by the current assistant, Peter Holder. The Abbey probably has a number of suitable pieces on file so that they can put together services such as this at short notice.

They’ve been putting together podcasts since the lockdown began using tracks from previously released Hyperion CDs. However, comparing this Harris to the one on their 2019 CD, it is clearly quite different, sounding like it’s been recorded routinely from the stalls rather than with the production set up they use for their albums.
