Sad news. He also became headmaster of York Minster choir school, I think, and thereafter Chamberlain of York Minster. Known mainly for his set of responses, but he wrote much else besides which I hope will be included in music lists to honour his memory.

On the board of Ryedale Festival from 2013, Chair from 2017 until 2020 when he retired due to ill health. The festival went from strength to strength under his leadership, attracting a national and international following. Supporters were notified this morning.And the tune ends too soon for us all
