Surely it deserves a place of its own? Wonderful singing.
I was slightly confused (looking at the very comprehensive service booklet) which bits of the choir were singing what (eg 'Consort' cantoris, etc)
I also was set to muse on carols which used to be sung often and seem to be rarely heard nowadays. H.C. Stewat's excellent Ideo carol (On this day earth shall ring) is a corker which I haven't heard for years. Leaving this service aside, I wonder if others sometimes think of carols which are less often aired?
Back to Magdalen, I wonder how they managed to do this 'live' given the current restrictions. Full marks to them!
Disgraceful of me to niggle, but the pitch dropped a bit in The Three Kings. Not an unusual occurrence, sadly!
