      This was a beautiful service, very limpid singing as befitted the gentle canticles, anthem and voluntary.

          Just caught up with this one. I liked the arrangement of 'O Come, O Come Emmanuel' which I find often drags a bit. (Certainly better than one recent broadcast outing for this hymn, when a tin-eared member of the congregation insisted on bawling out the 'Rejoice!' refrain each time half a second before the choir got to it. There are some advantages to having no congregation present.)

            This arrangement is by John Rutter, from the 1st set of his "Twelve Christmas Carols".

              I only just caught up with this CE and I agree entirely, jonfan. Obviously very carefully directed to produce an almost meditative quality. All the more impressive reading that it was recorded in September, when students must surely have just begun term.
